McMurdoch

Everybody who enjoys movies that keep you unsure of “What the h is going on?” are going to like this one, which is at the same time comedy, mystery, whodunit and psychological thriller …
The setting in a mansion in a rural are is perfect for murder, psycho-drama and dark forebodings. Watching the goings on at what is supposed to be a birthday party we, the audience, constantly analyze the characters, what they are doing or not doing – and we are trying to make sense of it all. Not an easy task. In that sense this movie is quite comparable to the recent scifi-horror flick “Nope” by Jordan Peele. Yet, All My Friends Hate Me to me seemed to be more like, well, in terms of comparison, it is to Blake Edwards’ “The Party (with Peter Sellers) what “Event Horizon” is to “Lost in Space”. It is darker, more mysterious, and more difficult to make sense of.
I guess, if you want to fully understand what I meanby this cryptic description, you’ll have to watch the movie. 😉 And I think it is an interersting, although slow-burning one. I won’t tell you if all the answers will be given in the end, but I can promise you this: the end will make you think again about what you have seen. (And that is something not every movie achieves these days.) 😉
Enjoy, and don’t spread the hate, be the love!
